Introduction
The Explorer Scout Section is the fourth Section within Scouting and was formed in 2002 along with the Scout Network (for 18 – 25 yr. old’s) to replace Venture Scouting. Since its launch Explorer Scouting has taken off and has over 30,000 Members in 2,000 Units across the UK.
Intrepid ESU was formed in October 2013 when a need for Explorer Scouting was identified in Euxton and surrounding areas. We are based at Euxton Methodist Church Hall and meet on a Tuesday night between 19:30 and 21:00.
Who is the Explorer Scout Section for?
Explorer Scouts is open to all young people aged between 14 and 18 years old.
Explorer Scout Programme

Intrepid ESU is a highly active Unit that often splits its time meeting at and away from our main base, as well as taking part in many varied District activities.
The Explorer programme gives opportunities to take part in many adventurous activities, local conservation projects, creative projects, camps and expeditions, International trips, community support…the list is endless!
Explorer can also gain awards – from nationally recognised governing bodies (e.g. BCU for canoeing), to Scout Awards and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
We have a great Facebook page that you can “Like” and see all the amazing activities that we do and information about our programme.
