Gyula’s farewell Saturday 15th August 4pm
On Sunday 12 July there was a lovely Circuit farewell video service for Gyula and the other Ministers who are moving on to new postings. This was followed by an informal zoom chat to allow some of us to say a personal “Farewell”.
If you were not able to join the zoom – or even if you were – there will be an opportunity to meet Gyula in the flesh and give him a personal send-off in August.
As you will be aware, we have been floating the idea of a picnic-on-the-park gathering to say goodbye to Gyula. Many of you came back to me and a significant number of you are positive about it, so a date has been set. We will meet (socially distanced of course) on Astley Park in the grassed area on the opposite side of the lake from Astley Hall itself. Please bring your own picnic and drinks, and whatever you wish to sit on.
We hope as many of you as feel able will join us to mark Gyula’s departure, and if you wanted to ask anything, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Carolyn Hothersall 07401191814 firstname.lastname@example.org
In the event of bad weather, we have Sunday 16th August also set aside as a back-up. A message will come out via Yvonne about 3pm if we are calling it off due to the weather. If we cancel on both dates, then there will be no alternative event organised, but a presentation will be made to Gyula and we will make the photos available on the church website and social media.
